William J. Cooney

Mr. William J. Cooney, age 70, died February 6, 2008 in LaGrange, Illinois. Mr. Cooney was a 42 year resident of Riverside, IL and an Attorney at Law at McBride, Baker & Coles in Chicago (Holland & Knight) for 38 years. He was Past President of the St. Mary's School Board and the Riverside Public Library. He was also a member of the Village of Riverside Planning Commission.

Mr. Cooney was the beloved husband of Julie, nee Heron; loving father of William (Kimberly) and David (Peg) Cooney, Kate (Kevin) Maloney, and Elizabeth Cooney. He was a doting grandfather to eleven grandchildren.

A funeral mass was held on February 11, 2008 at St. Mary Church in Riverside, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in Chicago. Memorials in Bill's memory to the Riverside Public Library or the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services would be appreciated.
